On Thursday, November 13th, 2014 at Daniels Spectrum, Regent Park Arts and Cultural Centre we celebrated voices of change in our school communities and society. This inspiring evening was a great opportunity to get to know more about Harmony Movement’s work and to connect with educators, school boards and community groups working in the area of diversity and equity.
This year we honoured Jeremy Dias the 2014 recipient of the Harmony Award. As founder of Jer’s Vision and the International Day of Pink, Jeremy has been working to build more inclusive schools and communities throughout Canada. His organization works with youth and adults to tackle the issues of bullying and discrimination.
Our other 2014 award winners are:
Harmony Educator Award: Alison Carson, Halton District School Board
Mary A. Samuel Harmony Leadership in Education Award: Michael Way Skinner, York Catholic District School Board
Harmony School of the Year Award: Eastwood Collegiate Institute, Kitchener, Ontario
